High School Dual Enrollment applicants choose "Visiting Non-Degree Undergrad" for Academic Level.
Dual Enrollment applicants please choose "High School Student" for your Program of Study.
Improving your English skills can help you achieve your academic, professional, and personal goals. The American Language Institute (ALI) program will help you develop your English language skills and gain a better understanding of US academic culture. Qualifying students can take ALI classes and undergraduate or graduate courses simultaneously through the Bridge program. Please note that ALI admission does not automatically guarantee admission into a degree program at IUP. If you want to enter a degree program at IUP, consider applying for conditional admission through the ALI Provisional Program.
Students from other PASSHE Universities taking coursework at IUP under a 'shared course' collaborative
agreement where the approved coursework is transferred back to their home university with both grade and credit.
You must be a current student at participating PASSHE school.
Summer and Fall application opens in March, Spring and Winter application opens in October.
Full-Time Police Academy at IUP Main Campus starts each January (Spring Term) and June (Summer Term).
The Pittsburgh location offers a Part-Time Police Academy option typically starting each October/November (Fall Term) dependent on enrollments.
Prerequisites for Graduate School
Please only choose this category if you plan to apply/attend graduate school at IUP. Otherwise, please choose Special Status.
Prerequisites for a Second Bachelors Degree
Please only choose this category if you have already earned a bachelor’s degree, and need prerequisites to be admitted into a second bachelor’s degree program.
Teacher Certification
Student with a bachelor’s degree who wishes to seek an additional certificate.
Enrichment
Adult who wishes to enroll on a limited basis for the purpose of personal enrichment
Senior Citizen
Person on Social Security or equivalent retirement benefits who wishes to audit a course. Senior citizens pay reduced fees. Attendance is based on departmental permission.
Special Status
Student with a bachelor's degree who wishes to enroll on a limited basis for the purpose of personal enrichment or professional development.
Visiting College Student
Person who is currently enrolled at another institution of higher education, who wishes to enroll on a limited basis at IUP.
Visiting High School Student
IUP Approved Dual Enrollment applicants please choose "Accelerated Learner" for your student type.
Any high school student whose school district does not participate in IUP's dual enrollment program should choose "Transient/Visiting Student" for your student type. Students enrolling as "Transient/Visiting Student" do not receive the dual enrollment discount.
Please only choose this category if you have applied for your C&T I and your advisor has approved enrollment in this program.
Career and Technical Teacher Certification
Please only choose this category if you are a newly hired career and technical instructor.
Cooperative Education Teacher Coordination Certification
Please only choose this category if you are interested in becoming a certified Cooperative Education coordinator.
If you have attended classes at a college or university after graduating from high school, please choose Transfer. If you will be enrolled at another university while taking coursework at IUP, please choose Transient/Visiting Student.
